Fortified and well armed, Echo Base was a defensible position that Hoth's heavy snowfall gave the converted Wampa den natural camouflage. However, the Empire's Probe Droids located Echo Base. The Empire's attack would be relentless and Echo Base would not hold, but the rebellion knew the brave Echo Base defenders pushed back against the Empire for as long as they could to insure as many Rebels could escape as possible.
